Northdown , just outside Blakeney, has one of the most spectacular positions on the North Norfolk coast, in fact it is in a designated ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty ’.
The uninterrupted panoramic views extend from the village of Morston and its surrounding countryside, over the sea and salt marshes to Blakeney Point.
It is a dream holiday location for all - families, couples, birdwatchers, ramblers and sailing enthusiasts .It is set within its own grounds with private access about 200 yards from the main road.
The North Norfolk Coastal path runs directly below the house offering wonderful walks– whether to the bustling village of Blakeney or to the sailing centre of Morston and far beyond. There are many beaches—some sandy and some pebble within easy driving distance.
Northdown is a beautifully renovated 20th century house that has been refurbished during the last year to a 5 star standard.
The house itself is newly decorated and carpeted, there is a pay telephone in the hall .The oil fired central heating /hot water and double glazed windows make it very snug , even in the winter. Living room This is a comfortable room with green leather settees and armchair, and an open hearth (no fires though please!) There is a wide screen television and video (plenty of video tapes—or bring your own). The view from one of the windows stretches over the marshes, to Blakeney point and out to the sea .
Dining Room This is furnished with farmhouse style dining table ,6 chairs and a dresser. A cheerful room with a stereo system and lots of CD’s—both classical and modern (to cover most tastes! Not guaranteed). There is a small hatch through to the….
Kitchen This faces to the rear of the house with wonderful sea views. It is all newly fitted with washer/dryer, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven and hob. The cupboards are in pine with cheerful multicoloured tiling. There is a back door leading onto the patio.
Bedrooms –3– These are all large and airy with country pine bedsteads and bedroom furniture. The master bedroom has wonderful views to Morston and the sea and is furnished with a double bed. The second bedroom, also with a double bed, has spectacular sea views to both Morston and over to Blakeney Point. The third bedroom has two single beds.
Bathrooms -2– Upstairs- - newly fitted bath, basin and low level WC. Downstairs there is a second bathroom with bath and basin with a separate WC.
Garden The immediate area outside the house is grassed with a patio area—table, chairs and a BBQ, the ground then falls away into its natural landscape - gorse etc., a wooded area offers protection to much wildlife.
N.B.
All linen and towels are provided—the beds will be made up prior to your arrival—but please bring your own towels for the beach. There is a hair drier and basic supplies for your use—bath foam, shampoo etc. There are no extra hidden charges.
Having stayed ourselves in many rental properties that have been either ill equipped, uncomfortable, dirty or just unacceptable, we have gone to great lengths to make sure everything is as welcoming and ‘home-like’ as possible.
